So today I was craving for cinnamon rolls and I love the Cinnabon but I didn’t want to go out lol. So I decided to make some for the family instead. I made 16 pieces and amazingly that same night they are almost all gone! Now we only have 6 pieces left on the table and Im sure there won’t be any left for tomorrow morning, because its sooo good that we cant stop ourselves from eating it lol! But oh well, I’ll show you this easy peasy cinnamon rolls recipe and how I made them.
Ingredients:
For the dough
- 4 cups flour
- 1 pack active dry yeast
(1 tsp sugar) - 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup butter (I put mine in the microwave for at least 35-40 seconds enough time to soften the butter)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
For filling
- 1 cup brow sugar
- 3 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1/3 cup butter
For the icing
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 1 stick butter
Directions:
- In a medium bowl pour the warm milk, sprinkle the 1 tsp sugar and sprinkle the yeast. Give a quick mix. this will take at least 10-20 minutes for the yeast to proof.
- Once the yeast proofed already, in the large mixing bowl ( I mean in the stand mixer bowl) put the flour, sugar and salt mix into the bowl, then mix them. Pour the butter and eggs mix it in medium speed.
- Pour the proofed yeast into the mixer. Make sure they all mix.
- Knead the dough for a little bit and shape it to a ball. Put the dough in the oiled bowl and cover it. Wait for at least an hour for it to double the size. (Put it in the warm place)
- Once the dough is doubled the size, sprinkle some flour in the area where you will roll the dough. Start to flatten it using the rolling pin. Then start spreading the filling on the flatten dough.
- Begin to roll it from the side, make sure you start from the long side part of the dough.
7. Cut the dough in half. And divide each to pieces. You should have 16 pieces after you cut them all.
8. Transfer them to 9×16 pan. Cover it again wait at least 1 hour before you bake.
9. Pre-heat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit when you are ready to bake them. Bake them for 30-35 minutes.
10. Mean while make the icing. Beat the cream cheese first until its smooth. Use the hand mixer (Make sure the cream cheese is room temperature it’s easier to beat if its a little soft) Next add the butter ( the butter should be a room temperature too, or put it in the microwave for 35 seconds that will soften the butter a little bit), then mix them all well. Then add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and salt.
11. When the cinnamon roll is done, take it out from the oven, spread the icing on top.
